Coach John Weaver (WKS)
John has helped numerous high school kickers and punters across the Southeastern United States. He started by conducting private lessons while he played collegiate football at Hinds Community College and Delta State University. In addition to private lessons he has been a counselor at kicking camps held at Ole Miss, Auburn, Costal Carolina, and Appalachian State.

 

 

John is a former collegiate punter at Hinds Community College and Delta State University. During his senior
campaign he was ninth in the nation for Division II
averaging 42.9 yards per punt, and was named to the
Gulf South Conference All-Academic Team.

 

John is currently the defensive coordinator and  special teams coach at Tallulah Academy, and still conducts private lessons to kickers and punters in the Vicksburg area. Through Weaver Kicking School (WKS) he strives to teach kickers and punters the importance of marketing themselves and improving their fundamentals while learning proper techniques of the kicking game.

Jared Thames
(Warren Central) 2008 All-Region Selection
(Kicked 11 field goals in his senior campaign. Tied for 4th in the county with most FG's in a season)

Jason Greer
(Porter's Chapel) Kicked a game winner vs. River Oaks and helped the Eagles to a 13-1 season, During his senior year his longest FG was 40 yards, while racking up 65 points. Greer also booted 65% of his kickoffs in the endzone. He also finished the season averaging 34.6 yards per punt.

Trey Crum
(Hinds C C/Delta State) All-American Kicker @ HCC and @ DSU he holds the GSC record for most points in a season by a kicker with 111. Trey currently kicks for the Mississippi Mudcats in Tupelo. John was Trey's holder when they played together at Hinds and DSU.

Rob Park
(Ole Miss) John was his counselor at Ole Miss Camp and he received a scholarship after his senior season at Memphis University School. He is concluding his senior season as the starting punter for the Rebels in the Cotton Bowl. Park is averaging 38.9 yards per punt with a long of 60.


Ryan Shoemaker
(Auburn) John was his counselor at Auburn Kicking Camp and was signed to a scholarship from Oak Mountain High School in Alabama.   Shoemaker, a redshirt freshman from Birmingham, was ranked 16th nationally in punting at 43.2 yards. Shoemaker was a second team College Football News Freshman All-American


Spencer Strickland
(DSU)  John coached Spencer while he was a Graduate Assistant at DSU. He was a four year starter for the Statesmen averaging 38.6 yards per punt for his career. During his freshman campaign he was named National Player of the Week averaging 42.5 yards per punt on six attempts and putting five of them inside the 20.

Drew Mazzanti (Hinds CC) Earned a scholarship to punt for the Eagles.

-Lesson consists of ½ hour of stretching/conditioning training and 1 hour of private kicking/punting instruction.

 Private instruction outside of the Vicksburg and Tallulah area is available throughout the year. Prices vary depending on location, travel time, and number of lessons requested. Please contact John to inquire about him traveling to you for private instruction.
